The Second Annual Majek Owner's Tournament was a Huge Success
After the huge success of the First Annual Majek Owner's Tournament, the Second Annual Majek Owner's Tournament had to be bigger and better to follow the Majek tradition. The participation doubled from 2009 with over 270 anglers and over 550 total guests. Friday and Saturday night, everyone met in Port Aransas for great music, food and fun. Tetco provided cold drinks for everone. Guests were awarded door prizes such as Castaway and Woodee Fishing Rods and lots of other great gifts. The Saturday morning of August 14, teams and families headed out for a full day of fishing aboard their Majek boats. Teams were in search of a redfish, trout and one other fish. The fish were biting as the crew from the Cabela's Saltwater Series were busy weighing fish for a full two-hours. Following the awards and dinner was the grand finale. Ten guests' names were drawn for a chance to win a brand new boat. One by one their names were drawn to get out of the boat until the last person standing, Clark Jordan, won a brand new, fully-rigged 20' Majek Xtreme on a Coastline Trailer powered by a Yamaha outboard.
Everyone had a great time and the city of Port Aransas was a gracious host. The event was filmed for the Cabela's Saltwater Series TV Show, which will begin airing on November 3rd on FSN SW. Thank you to sponsors for the event: Ronnie's Marine, Kresta's Boats and Motors, Anchor Marine, South Padre Boat Sales, Dockside Marine, Sport Marine, Boeker Custom Aluminum, Tetco, Stiffy, Castaway Rods, Teleflex Marine, Coastline Trailers, Saltwater Assassin, Compadres Ink, Donovan Marine, Got Tail, Lone Star Gallery, Affiliated Resources, Blackburn Marine Supply, Budweiser, Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine, ResTex, Kelcom Inc., Sudbury, and Houston Marine.

The first annual Majek Owner's tournament was a huge success. 287 guests came out to Bluff's Landing for the big event. Friday night, participants were treated to a Cajun shrimp boil as they received the details about tournament day. Saturday, anglers were met with high winds and hot conditions but that did not affect the fishing. At the weigh-in, Simrod Outdoors was busy with all of the fish coming to scales. Many anglers took advantage of the option to weigh their fish in alive so they could be released back into the bays. Following the Bar-B-Q dinner, ten lucky guests were selected by drawing to get inside the new Majek Illusion to be given away. One by one, nine of the participant's names were drawn to get out of the boat leaving Jeff Wheeler as the last man standing and the lucky winner of the new Majek Illusion.
